NINE
"Nine seems to be a good number"
– Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The idea of increasing the number of Supreme Court Justices by whichever political party is in power to obtain more favorable results in the courts is problematic. One party increases the number to 13, the next to 21. Where would it end?
The point of the separation of powers in our Constitution is to provide balance between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government. That balance is destroyed if the Court becomes subject to the whims of whoever is in charge.
Packing the court, by whichever political party, is a bad idea. We should codify nine justices on the Supreme Court through a Constitutional Amendment.
